Afternoon Teas are held every two months on a Monday afternoon at 2:30 - 4:00 p.m at the Magdalene Centre on Mottram Road. We would love you to join us!
Our traditional Afternoon Teas are a relaxed and informal occasion and free to attend (donations are welcome). They are a great chance to get out with friends or make new friends! Come and enjoy conversation, with tea, sandwiches, cakes and our legendary scones with jam and cream made by the catering team. Everyone is welcome and we encourage you to bring along friends and neighbours, especially those who may otherwise struggle to get out and about. Our transport team can pick up any who are unable to make it to the Magdalene Centre under their own steam.
We often invite along a guest speaker after tea from a charity or other organisation who might bring a slide show too. Recently we have heard from Tear Fund, The Carpenters Arms in Ashton, Operation Christmas Child and Christian Aid. Other times we have featured musical entertainment, reminiscing or inspiring life-stories.
