Walk with the Walkers

Once a month the church’s walking group take to the scenic hills and footpaths of our local countryside or further afield to enjoy a day’s walking together.  Our walks take us to the Peak District, Cheshire, Yorkshire and elsewhere.

Join us regularly, or occasionally, and you'll be made very welcome. We meet at the church and car-share where necessary, so you don't need to have a car. Dress sensibly with boots or strong shoes and waterproof clothing. Bring a packed lunch and a drink.

We have a monthly programme, with a cycle of walks varying from 'Easy' through 'Moderate', to 'Hard'. Easy walks are generally quite short, but may still involve some ascent. Easy and moderate walks are usually suitable for families with school age children – if in doubt, please contact the walk leader.

We collect a voluntary donation of £1 per person. In 2019, we contributed £150 to the the Air Ambulance service. In 2022 the money will go to Glossop Mountain Rescue. In 2023, our donations will go to Willow Wood Hospice.
