Goodbye to Andrew
Not a dry eye in the house...
On Sunday 5th March, we bade a fond farewell to Rev Andrew Knight, who has come to the end of his curacy with us in Mottram Parish.
We said our farewells at our 8.30am and 10.30am services and presented him with a gift from the congregation, and a special one from our children and young people. After the 10.30am service we all went down the hill to his adopted village of Broadbottom and enjoyed a time of fellowship at the Magdalene Centre, sending him on his way with love, smiles, tears and cake!
Andrew made a huge difference to the communities of Mottram and Broadbottom, especially with his youth work and wider outreach. We will dearly miss those colourful shirts, and gently teasing him about the time he nearly set our historic church on fire!
Andrew has gone to be Priest in Charge at St. Mary's in the parish of Partington and Carrington, where his licensing service will take place on Tuesday 21 March at 7.30pm. We'll miss him tremendously but...
If you love someone - set them free!
