Vacancy

Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever... ...Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.    Hebrews 13

All change in Mottram Parish

On Sunday 5th May 2019, our vicar James Halstead announced that he will be leaving his post in Mottram this coming summer, and that as a family they'll be moving to the Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham.

James' leaving party was at the Vicarage from 2pm on Saturday 13th July - sharing the occasion with the Friends' Garden Party. His last services with us will be on Sunday 21st July.

At the end of August, when James leaves, the parish will enter a period known as a 'vacancy'. At this time the PCC will begin preparing our Parish Profile, which is a description of the parish, the church congregation, and our aspirations for the future. This will be made available to applicants, once the post has been advertised.

Already, as part of the preparation of our Parish Profile, every member of the congregation has been asked to fill in a questionnaire, asking their opinions about church life and mission, and what qualities we are looking for in James' successor.

We'll post here any further developments, as the information comes available. In the meantime, we ask for your prayers, both for James and his family as they take up their new challenge, and for the parish as we make our plans for his replacement.
