Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever... ...Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.    Hebrews 13

Since our vicar left at the end of the summer, the parish has been in a period known as a 'vacancy'. The PCC has prepared a Parish Profile, which is a comprehensive description of the parish, the church congregation, and our aspirations for the future. This is now available, and the post has been advertised, on the Diocesan website, the Pathways website and in the Church Times.

February update:

Interviews were held at the end of January, but we were unable to make an appointment on that occasion. A second day of interviews will be held at the beginning of May.

Applicants should apply directly to the Archdeacon of Macclesfield, the Venerable Ian Bishop, rather than to the parish. Here are two useful links:

We'll post any further developments on this page, as the information becomes available. In the meantime, we ask you to join us in praying for the parish and for the applicants, as we go through the process of discerning who will best fulfil God's purposes for the church and community here in Mottram Parish.

God, who in generous mercy sent the Holy Spirit
upon your Church in the burning fire of your love:
grant that your people may be fervent
in the fellowship of the gospel
that, always abiding in you,
they may be found steadfast in faith and active in service;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
