Special Occasions

St Michael’s Church has been at the centre of family and community occasions for generations, be that moments of joy and celebration, or poignant moments of remembrance and grieving. It’s at these times, when celebrating the birth or baptism of a child, or a significant birthday, or the marriage of a loving couple, or the life of a loved one who’s died, that we often want to turn to the church, to acknowledge God for his blessing, to give thanks and praise, and receive his comfort and peace.

In this section of the website you can find out all about: baptisms, weddings and funerals; our Memorial Garden and Book of Remembrance - lasting memorials to loved ones we have lost; flying the church flag to mark all manner of anniversaries in your family; and sponsoring flowers in church for a special occasion or act of remembrance.

Through the church's year there are also special times of celebration, reflection and worship including Lent and Easter, Advent and Christmas, Harvest and Remembrance, and details will be given here of how such special occasions are being marked in church at the appropriate time.
