If aught thou hast to give or lend
This ancient Parish Church befriend;
If poor but still in spirit willing
Out with thy purse and give a shilling.
But if its depths should be profound
Thank thy God and give a pound.
Look not for record to be given
But trust for thy receipt in heaven.
The Friends of Mottram Church was formed as a means for all people who have affection for our beautiful mediaval building, to support and contribute towards its upkeep.
The Church building is available for all and used in many ways by members of the local community, for worship, baptisms, weddings, funerals and other community events. It is a Grade II* listed building, and is part of our historical heritage here in Mottram having stood on the hill in some form for over 500 years.
The Friends also organise a number of events through the year; for example, an annual concert and garden party and Heritage Open Days weekend. All events are open to the public - if you would like to join our mailing list, click here. If you'd like to read our latest Newsletter, click here.
Subscription to the Friends is just £10 per year or £100 for Life Membership. Members will receive a badge and inscribed pen on joining. To join The Friends please click here to download a form or pick up a copy in church.
Friends events:
The Summer Garden Party will be held at the Church on Saturday July 13th. Please contact Chris Kershaw for a table. friends@mottramparish.org.uk
Other events will depend on the timing and progress of the various works in church, including the bellframe renovation and new heating system; please keep an eye on the website and look out for posters and press releases.
