Flying the Flag

Bookmark and Share

St Michael’s Church flies a flag from the top of the church tower - high above Mottram village and visible for miles around - for special occasions such as church festivals, community events, national commemorative days, some Saint’s days and to celebrate special events.

You can request a flag to be flown for your own special occasion such as a birthday, wedding anniversary, graduation, in memory of a loved one...

For the duration of the coronavirus emergency, we will keep the flag flying as a visible sign of hope and love for our local community.

If you would like the flag to be dedicated to someone you care for, on one of the unclaimed days, then please make a donation to the local Foodbank, and let Tony Kershaw know. He will put the name on the flag page.

You can see who or what the flag is flying for by looking through the flag diary below. Also, a monthly list is published in the Parish Magazine.
